In November 2007, the AdC hosted in Lisbon experts in the fields of competition law and economics from the European Union and the United States of America at the II Lisbon Conference. The first day of the Conference was celebrated as European Competition Day, in the framework of the Portuguese Presidency of the European Union.
The Conference focused on the themes of more efficient use of State Aid, judicial control of administrative decisions and damages actions for breach of competition rules, merger control in regulated markets and network economies, conclusions of the EU and US debates on abuses of dominant position and monopolization practices, and finally, the challenge of globalization to competition and industrial policies at national and EU level.
