I Lisbon Conference - Competition Law and Economics

The 1st Lisbon Conference, which took place in November 2005, aimed to fulfill one of the missions of the Competition Authority, which, according to its Statutes, must "promote research in antitrust matters" and "foster the adoption of antitrust practices."
The 1st Lisbon Conference addressed the following topics:
(i) competition enforcement and procedural rules after the "modernization package";
(ii) competition, regulatory costs, market imperfections and the competitiveness of the European Union;
(iii) competition and regulatory costs: the case of Portugal
(iv) the new European merger regulation and judicial control;
(v) the modernization of article 82 of the Treaty establishing the European Community (EC Treaty) and the abuse of dominant position; and
(vi) competition and regulation.
The 1st Lisbon Conference addressed the following topics:
