President of the AdC becomes an elected member of the Steering Group of the International Competition Network

The President of the AdC (Autoridade da Concorrência), Margarida Matos Rosa, has become an elected member on the International Competition Network (ICN) Steering Group for the 2019-2021 mandate.
Established in 2001, the ICN (International Competition Network) brings together around 140 competition authorities and non-governmental experts to promote cooperation and convergence towards a more effective enforcement of competition rules in the benefit of consumers and businesses at international level.

This is the first time AdC is elected as an effective member of the ICN Steering Group.
The AdC is also a co-chair of the ICN's initiative to promote implementation of good practices at a global level and ensures ICN's coordination with the OECD's Competition Committee.

At the ICN Steering Group, the Portuguese authority replaces the Dutch authority and joins counterparts from around the world, including Germany, which chairs the ICN, the United States Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission, and the European Commission.
