What is a cartel?
A cartel is an illegal agreement between competing companies to coordinate their actions on the market in order to eliminate the risk and uncertainty in their conduct in the market. It leads to higher prices, less innovation and quality, and ultimately to a less competitive economy. The mission of the AdC is to defend and promote competition to avoid these risks and deliver the benefits of competition to society, by detecting, investigating and sanctioning these illegal practices.
