Competition Authority extends public consultation deadline for its Guidelines on the Adoption of Commitments in Merger Control

​On 17 November 2010, the draft Guidelines on the Adoption of Commitments in Merger Control were presented by the Competition Authority for public discussion. Interested parties were informed that they could forward their observations on the said draft until 15 December 2010.

In the light of the fact that the document in question is of particular importance for the control of mergers between undertakings in Portugal and that it has been concluded that the collection of feedback would benefit from an extension of the deadline for the presentation of observations, the CA has decided to extend the deadline for their submission by 30 days.

Thus, until 15 January 2011, interested parties may forward their observations to the CA by e-mail (to adc@concorrencia.pt) or by fax or the postal service – in the latter cases, to the following address:
