The Competition Authority (CA) has recently moved its offices to a new building in Lisbon. With the authorisation of the powers overseeing it, required by law, the CA has transferred its offices to 19 Avenida de Berna. It did so on the grounds, firstly, of the need to reduce operating costs and, secondly, of the factors constraining management of the space (imposed by its dispersion) and the resulting limitations on its personnel and security management.
The reduction in the Authority's operating costs as a consequence of this decision – a necessary condition for moving premises – involved a fall in annual rents (office floors and parking) of around 25%.
Before this move, the CA's premises were distributed over six floors, not all adjacent, in the building at 4 Rua Laura Alves, Lisbon, in co-occupation with other public and private bodies.
Since arrival at its new address, the CA has provided a map showing the new location for all those concerned, available at its Internet site: www.concorrencia.pt.
