AdC Award – 2020 Edition



 
​The third edition of the 2020 AdC Competition Policy Award is attributed to an academic work about killer acquisitions, i.e. acquisitions of innovative companies, often start-ups, specifically with the purpose of eliminating potential competitors.
 
The winning paper entitled “Killer Acquisitions”, by Colleen Cunningham, Florian Ederer, and Song Ma was highlighted by the Award’s Selection Committee, chaired by Margarida Matos Rosa, president of AdC, is composed of Luís Cabral (NYU Stern), Massimo Motta (Barcelona GSE), Patrick Rey (Toulouse School of Economics), and Pedro Pita Barros (NOVA School of Business and Economics) for the originality and relevance of the implications for the development of competition policy.
